TIM BERKEY ince 1990, The Sunl-Iealth Alliance has been Sfacilitating the use of benchmarking as a means of discovering innovative ways to improve the delivery of health care services. More than 120 of our 270 partner hospitals have participated in 15 benchmarking projects using a collaborative benchmarking approach developed by Suni-Iealth. This article first describes two SunHealth benchmarking projects: medical records and pneumonia (DRG [diagnosis- related group] 89).
