HORIE INTRODUCTION In 1827 the Relics of St Cuthbert were removed from the tomb behind the high altar of Durham Cathedral by the Cathedral Librarian James Raine. The Relics included the fragmentary remains of up to four wooden coffins which had contained the body of St Cuthbert.
