The Rev John Williams (afterwards Archdeacon) was vicar of Lampeter in Cardiganshire. To him was entrusted tho early education of Sir Walter's Bon, Walter. Scott speaks of him in his ' Journal ' (p. 619) as 'the bost schoolmaster in Europe.
